Dr.Mahesh Desai is one of the founder members of the Asian Society of Endourology

-  Academy of Medicine, Singapore and National University of Singapore invited Dr.Mahesh Desai to be Local Assessor for the Continuous Assessment for Urology. The candidates from various hospitals in Singapore were assessed for merit of work performance during their training period.

Dr Mahesh Desai was invited to the 6th Asian Congress of Urology, 12-18August 2002, Kuala Lumpur.

He chaired sessions on:

• Current Controversies in Endourology

  He also operated in the Pre conference Workshop and demonstrated surgery on : 
  1. Ante grade approach to UPJ  Stenosis
  2.PCNL for complex staghorn

He also delivered lectures on:

1. Lower pole stone: ESWL Vs. PCNL Vs. Flexible URS
2. UPJO: My choice of Endoscopic approach
3. PCNL Techniques in the management of complex staghorn
4. How to avoid complications in PCNL

Dr.Mahesh.R.Desai was invited as a faculty to conduct a workshop on Endourology (PCNL & URS) in Rangoon for the XII Myanmar Military Medical Conference, which was jointly organized by the Asian School of Urology. Along with Dr.Mahesh.R.Desai other faculty members were:

International Urological Conference 
Dhaka 18-20 march, 2002

          Dr. Mahesh Desai attended the 3^rd International Urological Conference organized
by Association of Urology Surgeons at Dhaka on 18-20,March. 

          President of Bangladesh inaugurated the conference, which was attended by 300 delegates from all over the country and distinguished faculty from India, Pakistan and Singapore. The various topics discussed were related to Stone surgery, BPH, Laparoscopy etc. Dr. Mahesh Desai demonstrated Live Percutaneous Stone Surgery. The foreign faculty was nvited to the President’s residence for tea.
