  4. July 2000-May 2004: Joined as nephrology resident at Muljibhai Patel Urological center Nadiad, Gujarat.Registered for Diplomat of National Board in Nephrology super-specialty as trainee at M.P.U.Hospital Nadiad, Gujarat, since January 2001. I was trained in general nephrology, dialysis and transplantation. I have efficiency in interventions such as central venous catheterization (temporary), renal biopsy (native and graft) under real time ultrasound. I have efficiency in performing and interpreting ultrasound of Kidney ureter and bladder. At the end of training, I appeared for DNB Nephrology theory (December 2003) and practical (May 2004) and passed in first attempt.
  5. May 2006-Nov 2006: (ISN fellowship)Selected for International Society of Nephrology Fellowship at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) United States, which is one of the centers starting Slow Low Efficient Dialysis (SLED). I got proficiency in continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), Slow Low Efficient Dialysis (SLED) and clinical nephrology. Acquired knowledge in the field of Cadaveric kidney transplantation.
  6. May 2004 till date: Presently working as a Consultant Nephrologist at Muljibhai Patel Urological Hospital Nadiad. Guajat, which is 150-bedded hospital accredited for DNB training in Nephrology and Urology. It has general nephrology, Pediatric nephrology services and active live related renal transplant programme. It has facility for maintenance hemodialysis for long-term and also as bridge to renal transplant. Our hospital has small number of CAPD patients. It has an active vascular interventional programme in Reno-vascular diseases (both Native and graft) and vascular access. I have performed more than 200 semi-permanent cuffed catheter insertions under fluoroscopy. I have experience in performing renal angiographies. It has 2 DNB fellowship seats in the field of nephrology. In addition to the management of patients I have teaching experience for the DNB nephrology fellows.

Transplant experience:

  1. The exposure to renal transplant started during the nephrology rotation in Internal Medicine residency at LTMMC and General Hospital Mumbai. I performed intra-operative and postoperative management of Cadaveric and Live related transplant in the year 1998.
  2. I joined for Super-specialty (Diplomate National Board in the field of Nephrology) at Muljibhai Patel Urological Hospital in July 2000. I prepared more than 200 End stage renal transplant patients for renal transplant. I managed them intra and postoperatively and followed them on the regular basis. I performed more than 100 graft biopsies and acquired the skill to interpret them.
  3. I joined the Department of Nephrology Muljibhai Patel Urological Hospital in May 2004, after successfully completing the DNB Nephrology training in the first attempt. As a consultant in Nephrology, I managed transplant patients and its complications including post-operative, infective, immunological and chronic allograft nephropathy.
  4. As a part of my ISN (International Society of Nephrology) fellowship at University of Arkansas foe Medical Sciences, LittleRock, USA, I gained knowledge on the pre-operative and post-operative managements of Cadaveric renal transplant recipients.
