Working Experience

June 1989 –March 1995.
Trained in J.N.Medical College Belgaum, Karnataka and acquired MBBS degree in December 1993.As a part of Compulsory internship programme (March 1994 to March 1995) I was trained at Civil Hospital Belgaum, Karnataka.

February 1997- January 2000.
Worked as medical registrar in Internal medicine at Lokamanya Tilak  Municipal  Medical college and General Hospital, Mumbai. Gained efficiency in the treatment of medical diseases, Intensive care management including cardiac emergency and ventilator management. At the end of the training period awarded MD (Internal medicine) at first attempt.

February  2000- June 2000
Worked as a resident in the Department of medicine at Breach candy Hospital, Mumbai.

July 2000-May 2004
Joined as nephrology resident at Muljibhai Patel Urological center Nadiad, Gujarat.
Registered for Diplomat of National Board in Nephrology super-specialty as trainee at M.P.U.Hospital Nadiad, Gujarat, since January 2001. I was trained in general nephrology, dialysis and transplantation. I have efficiency in interventions such as central venous catheterization (temporary), renal biopsy (native and graft) under real time ultrasound. I have efficiency in performing and interpreting ultrasound of Kidney ureter and bladder. At the end of training, I appeared for DNB Nephrology theory (December 2003) and practical  (May 2004) and passed in first attempt.

May 2006-Nov 2006 (ISN fellowship)
Selected for International Society of Nephrology Fellowship at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) United States, which is one of the centers starting Slow Low Efficient Dialysis (SLED). I got proficiency in continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), Slow Low Efficient Dialysis (SLED) and clinical nephrology. Acquired knowledge in the field of Cadaveric kidney transplantation.

May 2004 till date
Presently working as a Consultant Nephrologist at Muljibhai Patel Urological Hospital Nadiad. Guajat, which is 150-bedded hospital accredited for DNB training in Nephrology and Urology. It has general nephrology, Pediatric nephrology services and active live related renal transplant programme. It has facility for maintenance hemodialysis for long-term and also as bridge to renal transplant. We perform 140-150 renal transplant every year. Started  ABO incompatible renal transplant in 2013.
Our hospital has small number of CAPD patients. It has an active vascular interventional programme in Reno-vascular diseases (both Native and graft) and vascular access.  I have experience in performing renal angiographies. It has 2 DNB fellowship seats in the field of nephrology. In addition to the management of patients I have teaching experience for the DNB nephrology fellows.
