  9. My department of Nephrology apart from routine patient care is responsible for:
  1. Management of Live Donor Kidney Transplantation. We have performed in excess of 1710 Live Donor Kidney Transplantations till date from 1980.
  2. Maintenance Haemodialysis Programme; we have 15 dialysis stations operated 4 shifts daily. At present 32 patients are on maintenance haemodialysis for more than five years.
  3. Only department having facilities for interventional nephrology including renal angiography and angioplasty.
Research Interests
  1. Immunologic,Histologic and Clinical Parameters in Primary Glomerular Disease. More than 2500 renal biopsies have been done in past 12 years.
  2. Immunologic,Histologic, Clinical and Psycho-Social aspects of renal transplantation I have taken part in more than 1600 kidney transplantation.
  3. Haemodialysis & Biocompatibility aspects extracorporeal procedures.
  4. Renovascular disease.
  5. Oxidants in renal diseases specially role of catalytic iron.
