KIDNEY CIRCLE, Nadiad inaugurated by Hon'ble Union Minister Shri Dinsha Patel






The name of Muljibhai Patel Urological Hospital (MPUH), popularly
known as Kidney Hospital, has become synonymous with Nadiad. MPUH is
today considered among the best Nephro-Urological Hospitals in the
world, and it is visited by people from India and abroad for super
specialty treatment, education and training.


The Vaniavad junction on the College Road, Nadiad, falls under the
National Dandi Heritage Corridor, and it also connects the NH-8 and
Expressway. MPUH is just few metres from the junction. Keeping in view
the importance of the Vaniavad junction, the Muljibhai Patel Urological
Hospital, with the approval of the National Highway Authority of India,
took the initiative to beautify the junction as Kidney Circle, and has
installed a beautiful sculpture in white marble, symbolizing our Mother
Earth welcoming the passers by, and also the kidney so pure and
transparent. The sculpture was designed and executed by MSU alumnus
Mr.Deepak Mahakul of Vadodara.

The KIDNEY CIRCLE was inaugurated by Shri Dinsha Patel, the Hon‘ble
Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Micro, Small and Medium
Enterprises, Government of India, on Saturday, 8th January, 2011 at
5.00 PM in the presence of distinguished guests including Sants from
BAPS and other eminent personalities of Nadiad, MPUH Chairman Shri Rohit
Patel; Medical Director & Managing Trustee, Dr. Mahesh Desai; other
Trustees, Doctors, Officers, staff and general public.


The Hon‘ble Minister Shri Dinsha Patel in his inaugural speech
emphasized the important role of the citizens in maintaining the city
premises clean and beautiful. He thanked MPUH for taking the initiative
in beautifying the Circle and adding the name ’Kidney Circle‘ to
Vaniavad. He also mentioned that MPUH has become so well known in India
and abroad and therefore it is appropriate that the Circle will now be
known as Kidney Circle.


Shri Rohit Patel, Chairman, MPUH thanked the National Highway
Authority of India (NHAI) for granting permission to develop and
maintain the Kidney Circle. He also thanked Shri Dinsha Patel for
accepting our invitation to inaugurate the Kidney Circle. Dr. Mahesh
Desai thanked all the distinguished Guests and the public who accepted
our invitation and graced the occasion. Mr. Deepak Mahakul, the
Sculptor was felicitated at the hands of the Hon‘ble Union Minister.
